Frida Karlsson has encountered a setback as she prepares for the upcoming World Championship season. Due to a foot injury, she is currently engaging in alternative training methods. "Skiing is a bit away for me," Karlsson stated in a press release. In the fall, she faced issues with injuries in her left foot and has decided to alter her future training plans. "My body didn't respond as I wanted after the first sessions on snow in Vålådalen, and we realized that skiing is a bit away for me. I needed to make a change to get the best conditions moving forward," Karlsson said to the Swedish Ski Federation.

She will not attend the upcoming national team camp in Val Senales, Italy, but will instead focus on alternative training in Tenerife, cycling and rehabilitating at altitude. "There is an overload in the soft tissues of my left foot, which combined with a tough training fall has resulted in over- and underloading of my groin among other issues. This combination means that Frida needs to pull back from skiing training and focus on rehabilitation and alternative training," said national team doctor Rickard Noberius.

It is unclear whether her season start is at risk.
