Remi Lindholm moved during the king's journey – told a hilarious story about the best day of his life

Remi Lindholm shined in the championship race at the men's 50 km freestyle at the World Championships in Trondheim, finishing seventh. He led early in the race at the 20 km point, but later five top competitors broke away. Although Lindholm managed to catch up during a ski change, he ultimately fell back but fought hard against Britain's Andrew Musgrave for seventh place. Lindholm shared that placing seventh felt significant to him, marking one of the happiest moments of life as he almost got emotional during the race. "I had put so much effort into this race. I knew we were competing for good placements with thousands of spectators watching. Perhaps the best day of my life," Lindholm said.

The stadium was buzzing as announcers reported that 100,000 spectators attended the race. Lindholm mentioned that he had inquired about past placements in similar events during a conversation with Finland's head coach Teemu Pasanen, who hilariously shouted back the historical placement of Finnish skier Teemu Kattilakoski. Lindholm accomplished his best ranking at an international level, reflecting on the historic nature of such contests and the many Finnish champions that had come before him.

Lindholm made lighthearted comments on his post-race plans, humorously stating he'd be spending time at doping tests instead of celebrating widely. "The best parties are just ahead but these ones will still be big. I might just be sitting in a room with masks on, twiddling my thumbs, with no real plans for celebrations at all," he joked.
