Positive News about Frida Karlsson: May Be Ready for All Distance Races at the World Championships

Frida Karlsson remains committed to her plan of not racing further before the World Championships. However, her coach, Per Nilsson, has given a positive indication about her condition. He stated, “If she is healthy and whole, I believe she can handle the load of the longer races.”

Two weeks ago, Karlsson won the 20 km race in Les Rousses by a clear margin of one and a half minutes. Following this success, the Swedish star—whose season had been affected due to an injury in the preseason—announced that she would not participate in any more races leading up to the Championships in Trondheim during late February to early March.

As a result, she missed the recent World Cup events in Cogne and instead has been training at a high-altitude camp in Lavazé. According to her personal coach Per Nilsson, who was present in Cogne over the weekend, her mood is high and she has had an excellent training period. This optimism makes her feel well-prepared heading into the international competition at the World Championships.
