Johannes Hösflot Kläbo's six historic world championships in the same competition astounds both experts and competitors. Petter Northug, now a commentator for Norway's TV2, was emotional as he saw Klæbo earn his sixth gold medal during the men's 50 kilometers freestyle event at the world championships in Trondheim. This made Klæbo the first cross-country skier to win six medals in the same competition since the start of the championships which featured six races since 2001.

Northug struggled with tears, telling reporters, "I’m truly amazed by what Klæbo has accomplished. He has worked incredibly hard for this championship—it's remarkable to see."

Klæbo's achievement also placed him at the top of the men's list of medals won in championships, surpassing biathlete Björn Dählie's previous record of five golds in 1997. In women's competitions, Therese Johaug holds the record with 22 championships.

The Norwegian skiing community celebrated Klæbo’s astounding feat, as he has now accumulated 18 medals from world championships, including the one earned this past Saturday. Experts also pointed to Klæbo as possibly the greatest skier of all time, sparking discussions within the Norwegian media about his legacy in cross-country skiing.
