Petter Northug Struggles with Back Pain – Uncertain Before Season Opening at Beitostølen

Petter Northug is currently facing challenges due to back pain, which casts doubt on his ability to compete in the upcoming season opening at Beitostølen this weekend.
Reports indicate that Northug, known as ‘the burger king,’ is unsure whether he will be able to start the event. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about his dream of participating in the World Championships at home in Granåsen this winter.
After the season opening, he sees it as a crucial opportunity to demonstrate his readiness. Recently, it was announced that Northug has secured a sponsorship deal with fast-food chain Burger King worth around five million NOK. "We still keep the World Championship dream alive. Even though the chances are slim, the dream remains a reality today," Northug remarked during the sponsorship presentation in Oslo.
