Perttu Hyvärinen's misfortune continues as he has opted to withdraw from the Tour de Ski this year. The Finnish cross-country skier disclosed this decision on his Instagram account. He mentioned having dealt with a mild illness recently and assessed that his condition is not suitable for competition in the Tour de Ski. Instead, he plans to concentrate on rebuilding his strength at home, hoping to compete in the spring.
Hyvärinen faced significant challenges this season, as he injured his ankle in November and only returned to World Cup skiing mid-December in Davos. Last season, he excelled at the Tour by winning the 10-kilometer traditional race. The Tour de Ski is set to commence this Saturday.
