Therese Johaug (36) had few problems in securing the overall victory in Tour de Ski on Sunday.

"Superwoman" has taken the initiative ahead of the World Championship season.

Before the final of Tour de Ski on Sunday afternoon, Johaug led the overall standings after delivering a stellar performance during Saturday's skiathlon. She had 22 seconds to spare against her nearest competitor, Astrid Øyre Slind, before the final climb at Alpe Cermis. The American Jessica Diggins followed at 1.47 minutes behind.

In theory, only Øyre Slind really had the opportunity to challenge Johaug, but there was never any doubt. The 36-year-old achieved her fourth consecutive overall win in the Tour de Ski after winning the final stage with ease. On Sunday’s stage, Øyre Slind took second place ahead of Heidi Weng, while Nora Sanness secured fourth place.

Johaug's triumph in this edition equates her with Justyna Kowalczyk in total number of overall victories. She previously won the overall Tour de Ski titles in 2014, 2016, and 2020.
