Norwegian Triumph on Cermis with Klaebo and Johaug

The Norwegian dominance continued on Cermis with Klaebo and Johaug securing top positions in their respective events. In the men’s 10 km race with the climb up Cermis, Klaebo clocked in at 3h24'17"3, securing his fourth Tour title. He finished 1'23"1 ahead of Austrian Vermelunen and 1'43"7 ahead of Frenchman Lapalus. This victory adds to his reputation, as he now matches Dario Cologna and Justyna Kowalczyk for the number of Tour wins.

Federico Pellegrino also had a notable performance, coming in seventh in the same race, securing his third position in the overall World Cup rankings. Pellegrino expressed pride in his 10 km performance despite a previous setback in Dobbiaco. He emphasizes the importance of resilience and maintaining competitive performance as he approaches the World Championships in Trondheim.

In the women’s category, Therese Johaug marked a remarkable return to form, winning the Tour event ahead of two Norwegians, Sling and Weng. The top Italian finisher, Anna Comarella, achieved a commendable 16th place.

The results highlight the continued strength of Norwegian athletes in cross-country skiing, marking a significant shift in dominance as the event heads into the next series of competitions and championships, strengthening their lead in various international rankings.
