Norwegian Star Misses Home World Championships
Tiril Udnes Weng, a prominent figure in Norwegian cross-country skiing, has revealed that she will not be competing in the upcoming World Championships being held in Trondheim. The 28-year-old athlete has been suffering from health problems, namely glandular fever, which have prevented her from training effectively. In an interview with NRK, she stated, "I have been sick for four weeks now. I would not have had a chance to get in shape for the championship anyway."
Weng, who won the overall World Cup title as recently as 2023, has only competed in three World Cup events this season. The Ski World Championships in Trondheim are set to take place from February 26 to March 9, 2025.
