Norway Dominates Men's Relay at World Championships, France Finishes 4th

Norway decisively won the men's relay at the World Championships held in Trondheim, marking their 13th consecutive title in this event. The team established a leading position right from the first leg with Erik Valnes and maintained their lead through the following skiers, ultimately finishing with a solid gap of 36 seconds ahead of second-placed Switzerland and third-placed Sweden.

Klaebo's Record Achievement

Johannes Klaebo, competing on home soil, secured his 14th World Championship title, setting a new record and surpassing the previous record held by Peter Northug. His performance included two ceremonial laps, exhibiting skill and confidence as he crossed the finish line under the adoration of the home crowd.

Despite a strong showing from the French team, they finished in 4th place, narrowly missing out on a medal. The team had hoped to secure a podium position after previous good performances, but ultimately fell short, with Mathis Desloges unable to make an impact in the challenging segments of the course.

The French team will be looking to regroup and improve after this event, with the next major race on the horizon.

Additional Context

This victory not only emphasizes Norway’s dominance in cross-country skiing but also raises expectations as they aim for continued success in other events, particularly the upcoming men's 50 km race, where Klaebo will be a favorite to further his accolades at the World Championships.
