Norway Celebrates on the Opening Trip of the Junior World Ski Championships – Finnish Competitors Miss Out on Quarterfinals

Norway celebrated a strong start to the under-20 World Ski Championships as its skiers took the podium in the sprint events. In the women’s sprint, the Norwegians enjoyed a triple victory with Malin Hoelsveen winning gold, Iselin Bjervig Drivenes taking silver, and Milla Grossberg Andreassen finishing third.
In the men’s sprint, a tightly contested final saw Filip Skari emerge as the winner, while Lars Heggen secured silver and Swiss skier Isai Näff claimed the bronze medal. Finnish competitors were unable to reach the quarterfinals despite showing promise in the early rounds.
The junior championships, which highlight the best young talent in Nordic skiing, continue on Tuesday with the under-23 sprint event, promising more high-level competition in this emerging generation of athletes.
