Nordic Ski World Championships - Thrilling Finish! Swedish Women Claim Relay Gold
The Swedish women's cross-country team achieved remarkable success at the Nordic World Championships in Trondheim, dominating the relay event.
In a nail-biting finish, Jonna Sundling managed a narrow victory over Norway's Kristin Austgulen Fosnaes, clinching the gold for Sweden in front of an enthusiastic crowd. This win marks Sweden's fifth victory in women's events at this championship, with Sundling and Ebba Andersson each earning their third gold medals.
Unfortunately for the Norwegian team, anchored by Therese Johaug, the long-awaited victory continues to elude them, with one more chance to secure a win in the upcoming 50-kilometer race on Sunday.
Women's 4 x 7.5 km Relay Results:
1. Sweden (Emma Ribom, Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, Jonna Sundling) - 1:15:41.5 hours
2. Norway (Heidi Weng, Astrid Öyre Slind, Therese Johaug, Kristin Fosnaes) - +0.7 seconds
3. Germany (Pia Fink, Katharina Henning, Helen Hoffmann, Victoria Carl) - +1:13.4 minutes
