From Thursday, February 27 until Sunday, March 9, 2025, Trondheim (Norway) will host the 54th edition of the Nordic Skiing World Championships. The article outlines what you need to know about the competition including detailed timings and formats for each discipline.

Cross-Country Skiing

The program kicks off with sprint events on February 27: the women's sprint (qualifications from 10:00 with quarter-finals, semi-finals and final from 12:30) and the men's sprint (qualifications from 10:40 with subsequent rounds from 12:55). Later, on March 1 and March 2, skiathlon events for men and women are scheduled, respectively. Additional cross-country skiing events include 10 km classical races on March 4 (men at 13:00 and women at 15:30), team sprints on March 5, a men's relay on March 6, a women's relay on March 7, and finally the 50 km mass start events on March 8 and 9.

Ski Jumping

The ski jumping portion of the championships features events on several days. Key events include the women’s small hill on February 28, followed by a team event on March 1, the men’s small hill on March 2, and mixed, men’s, and women’s events on March 5, 6, 7, and 8 respectively.

Nordic Combined

For Nordic combined, the schedule lists both individual and team events. Competitions begin on February 27 with women’s mass start on the small hill followed by mixed team events on February 28 and group competitions on March 1 and 2. Additional rounds in the Nordic combined discipline include team and Gundersen formats that take place on March 6 and 8.

Norway’s team, led by star Johannes Klaebo, is expected to be ultra-dominant on home snow but the French team (Les Bleus) may still have strong chances in cross-country skiing, though expectations are lower for ski jumping and Nordic combined.
