In a recent decision, the cross-country skiing World Cup event will take place in Cogne, Italy, rather than Ulricehamn. This change comes after Nove Mesto in the Czech Republic withdrew from its role as an organizer. Although Ulricehamn stepped forward to fill the gap, a voting session at the International Ski Federation (FIS) meeting on Friday ultimately awarded the hosting rights to Cogne.

This marks the first time since 2019 that Cogne will proudly host a World Cup event in its picturesque town nestled in northwestern Italy.

During the same FIS meeting held in Zurich, officials confirmed that athletes from Russia and Belarus will continue to be barred from competing in the World Cup, upholding a resolution aimed at maintaining fair competition.
