New podium finish for Edvin Anger – second behind Kläbo

Edvin Anger continues to impress with his performance in cross-country skiing, finishing as the runner-up behind Johannes Hösflot Kläbo at the recent Engadin race. Following his victory the past weekend, Anger expressed his thoughts to SVT Sport, stating, "It’s a bit sour that I couldn’t hold on a bit more, but I gave it my all."

During the sprint final, Anger took an early lead but was closely followed by Kläbo, who made a decisive move as they approached the finish line. Despite Anger's efforts, Kläbo surged ahead, ultimately securing the win.

Anger commented on his strategy stating, "Everything was aimed at Kläbo today. I challenged him both in the semifinals and in the finals, and while he is strong, I intend to keep pushing him in future races."

This marks Anger’s second consecutive podium finish in sprint events, having clinched his first career World Cup victory just last week in an event without Kläbo in the line-up. With the World Championships approaching in a month, he feels optimistic and in top shape. "It feels like I'm operating at a new level since Davos before Christmas, and everything is coming together now," Anger concluded.
