The Norwegian Ski Federation has announced a new sponsorship with Nidar, a candy producer, for the men's cross-country skiing national team as they approach the World Championship season. The federation's leader for cross-country, Cathrine Instebø, confirmed the partnership at a press conference, indicating that this collaboration would help them focus on the season's goals. While she declined to comment on the financial details of the deal, she emphasized that the sponsorship will extend through the season. This development comes at a time when the federation is looking for new sponsors after losing significant sponsorships with Equinor and Sparebank1, as both will end their agreements in the near future due to changes in their sponsorship strategies. The Norwegian Ski Federation faces ongoing financial challenges, and Instebø noted the need to adapt to the changing financial landscape in sports.
In light of these changes, the federation continues to actively seek new sponsorship opportunities to support cross-country skiing programs going forward.
With Nidar's connection to Trondheim where the ski World Championships will take place, there is optimism that this partnership will bolster the team's presence and performance in upcoming competitions.
