CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Moa Ilar, who made a splash in Ruka last year by winning her first World Cup race in cross-country skiing, will not get the chance to compete in Friday's 10 km classic style event. Instead, she will be racing the 20 km distance that she won last year on Sunday.
In Ilar's place, 22-year-old Märta Rosenberg will be one of Sweden's six athletes in the 10 km race.
On the other hand, Frida Karlsson has the opposite scenario. She will participate in the 10 km on Friday and the sprint event on Saturday but will skip the long-distance race on Sunday.
Sweden's team for the 10 km classic style event:
Women: Emma Ribom, Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson, Jonna Sundling, Linn Svahn, Märta Rosenberg.
Men: Calle Halfvarsson, Edvin Anger, Jens Burman, Gustav Kvarnbrink, Truls Gisselman, William Poromaa.
The competitions in Ruka will continue on Saturday with the sprint event, and on Sunday the 20 km mass start will take place.
