
Victory for Norwegian Martin Nyenget in Lillehammer

The Norwegians triumphed on Friday in front of their home crowd in Lillehammer, host of the second stage of the World Cup. In the 10-kilometer freestyle event, Norwegian skiers took the top six positions.
Martin Loewstroem Nyenget, who came third the previous week in Ruka (Finland) for the season opener, took the victory. He finished just 4 seconds ahead of compatriot Simen Hegstad Krüger and 8 seconds before Harald Østberg Amundsen, who finished behind the Finnish skier Niskanen in Ruka.
The first French skier, Jules Lapierre, finished in 19th place. Hugo Lapalus, who was tenth in Ruka, came in 21st, Mathis Desloges placed 22nd, and Jules Chappaz rounded off in 41st place.
