Cross-Country Skiing: Marcus Grate Eliminated in the World Championships Sprint Prologue – 'Like Losing a War'
Originally published in SVT Sport on February 27, 2025
Marcus Grate’s World Championship debut in the sprint event did not go as planned. The 28-year-old skier was eliminated in the prologue, finishing outside the top 30 and 10.48 seconds behind qualifier Johannes Hösflot Kläbo. "It feels like losing a war, a war against myself," Grate remarked, reflecting his frustration and disappointment. After the race in Trondheim, he was visibly dejected, needing a pause to regain his composure and sort out his thoughts. Grate had entered the championship with high expectations, buoyed by his recent success at the Tour de Ski sprint event in Val di Fiemme earlier in January.
