Maja Dahlqvist has made the leap from Sweden to Norway as she gears up for the highly anticipated World Championships in 2025, scheduled to take place in Trondheim. Despite the intense rivalry that usually exists between the two nations in the realm of cross-country skiing, Dahlqvist shared that she has received a surprisingly warm welcome in her new home.
After relocating to Trondheim at the end of April, Dahlqvist chose to embrace the area’s exceptional training facilities and conditions, all aimed at maximizing her performance for the upcoming championships. She mentioned that the stunning landscapes not only boost her motivation but also help alleviate the monotony of training.
Looking back on the past season, Dahlqvist reflects on a particularly tough winter in terms of her physical fitness. Nevertheless, she achieved a commendable fourth place in the sprint cup and is optimistic about achieving even better results this winter. Although she's still identifying the factors behind her past performance fluctuations, her outlook remains hopeful.
In her new Norwegian surroundings, Dahlqvist has discovered numerous exhilarating training routes that invigorate her routine. Moreover, she has benefited from the favorable weather conditions, a vital aspect for outdoor training, which has cooperated beautifully since she made the move.
