Maja Dahlqvist finishes second in the sprint in Tallinn: "Feels really good"
Maja Dahlqvist spurted to a second-place finish in the sprint competition held in Tallinn. Nadine Fähndrich dominated the race and was the clear winner.
Dahlqvist reflected on her performance, stating, "It feels really good to wrap up the season this way." She acknowledged that she struggled to stay close to Fähndrich during the final stretch but expressed pride in her overall effort this season.
Fähndrich set a strong pace early in the finals, creating a significant gap as the race progressed. Dahlqvist managed to maintain her position as the second fastest, marking her sixth podium finish of the season.
The impressive performance from Fähndrich was characterized by her dominance throughout the sprint, winning every heat including the prologue, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the finals.
In a surprising turn, Kristine Stavås Skistad, considered one of the pre-race favorites, did not make it past the semi-finals. She finished third in her heat and did not qualify as a lucky loser.
Moa Ilar, who won the 10 km freestyle event in Holmenkollen recently, faced difficulties and fell in the quarter-finals, which derailed her hopes for the evening.
