Linn Svahn: "I only have a chance for one VM gold"

Linn Svahn has decided to focus solely on two individual distances at the World Championships, aiming to concentrate her efforts where she believes she has the best chance for success. "I really think the only event where I have a chance for a World Championship gold is the sprint," she told SVT Sport.
Last year, Svahn aimed to be proficient in all events, but with the World Championship year approaching, she is taking a more specialized approach. Her training is now directed toward skate skiing, as that is where she wants to excel this winter.
"And that's not a 50km....," she quickly adds, signaling her determination to narrow her focus.
The World Championships will feature sprint and the 50km freestyle events. Other individual distances include the 10km classic and the 20 km skiathlon (10 km classic + 10 km freestyle).
Svahn has made it clear she will prioritize sprint and skiathlon, entirely eliminating the 50km event from her plan. "For me, it's quite obvious," she says.
