Linn Svahn has been named the Sportswoman of the Year in Jämtland County for 2024. This notable achievement makes her the first person to receive the award twice.

The award is presented annually by the committee for the Haldo Hansson memorial skiing event, which has been recognizing athletes since 1959. To be eligible, athletes must represent a club or team from the region and demonstrate extraordinary performances on a national or international stage.

Svahn, representing Östersunds SK and the Swedish national cross-country skiing team, finished second in the overall World Cup standings during the 2023/2024 season. Additionally, she claimed first place in the sprint cup.

Previously, she was honored as the Sportswoman of the Year in 2020, and this latest accolade reflects her impressive comeback following serious injuries and surgeries that sidelined her from competing in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

In 2023, she showed resilience and skill, finishing fourth in the sprint and 30 km events at the World Championships in Planica. With 13 podium finishes in her season, including victories in the sprint cup, Svahn has made stunning progress in her athletic career.

This recognition is firmly supported by the committee, which praised her dedication, performance, and the tremendous challenges she has overcome. Svahn's remarkable journey in the world of cross-country skiing has truly earned her the title of Jämtland County’s Sportswoman of the Year.
