Linn Svahn discusses her rival Kristine Stavås Skistad's unique approach in the national team setup. Kristine, a Norwegian sprint star, has spent years outside the national team to pursue her own training regimen but has now rejoined the squad. Despite her strong performance last season, which included eleven podium finishes and five victories, her training method and absence from team events are points of concern.
Svahn acknowledges that missing out on Skistad's competitive edge is a loss for the team, stating, "She is the best athlete they have right now, so it's a shame to miss that." After Skistad's spring return to the national team, she continues training independently with her coach Lage Sofienlund. Landslag's head coach Sjur Ole Svarstad emphasized their willingness to support her at her own pace. However, Skistad is currently recovering from recent abdominal surgery and will miss the upcoming World Cup season opener in Ruka. Her primary goal remains the World Championships in Trondheim, where she will face several Swedish sprint stars.
