In Ruka, Lauri Vuorinen enjoyed a heartfelt celebration after securing third place in the World Cup sprint in traditional style. His wife, Johanna Matintalo, was there to share in the celebration, along with team coaches Ville Oksanen and Teemu Pasanen, who expressed their joy loudly. Teemu Pasanen's enthusiastic shouts could be heard from the media area, signifying their pride in Vuorinen's performance. After the competition, Vuorinen also engaged with fans, including Iivo Niskanen's father, Eero Niskanen, who waved the Finnish flag in pride.
Despite achieving a podium finish, Vuorinen noted that he thwarted a potential Norwegian triple victory, finishing behind Johannes Hösflot Kläbo and Erik Valnes, who were the top two. Vuorinen's podium is significant as it marks his second personal podium finish, following his second-place finish in Falun last March. Even Northug expressed his respect for Vuorinen, emphasizing that he is a skier to watch in future competitions, illustrating the day’s significant emotional depth not just for Vuorinen but for the entire Finnish skiing team.
