With just over two weeks left until the Swedish cross-country skiing premiere in Bruksvallarna, the national team's preparations have been disrupted. The training camp in Vålådalen has been cancelled due to a lack of snow in the Jämtland mountains. Anders Byström, the national team manager, emphasized the importance of quality training during this period and stated, "We need to make this change for the sake of quality."

Originally, the camp was scheduled to continue until Sunday, but a decision was made today to end the training early. "We've decided, together with coaches and athlete representatives, to finish the camp after today's interval training session and to shift the remaining days to a later time in Bruksvallarna. Everyone who wants to can stay, but we are also giving the option to go home and find better snow conditions," Byström explained.

The mild weather and snow shortage in Vålådalen have particularly affected athletes like Ebba Andersson, Oskar Svensson, Edvin Anger, Calle Halfvarsson, and Johanna Hagström, who are currently on site. "Vålådalen has done a fantastic job of preparing trails under tough conditions. We have had some good training days, but the warmer temperatures have taken a toll on the snow, leading us to adjust our plans. Quality is crucial at this time, and this change allows us to achieve that," Byström said.

For athletes who are currently at high altitude in Val Senales, the training camp continues as planned.
