Krista Pärmäkoski has announced that she will not compete in the World Cup finale at Salpausselä this weekend due to a hip flexor tear. According to the Finnish Ski Association, Pärmäkoski will undergo approximately two months of rehabilitation. She described the injury's development following a race in Davos last December, where she had felt increasing pain. Although she plans to vie in the upcoming races, she acknowledges that her current condition limits her capabilities. Having already faced tough competition, she aims to finish strong in the remaining races before the season concludes. Pärmäkoski's focus is now on recovery, but she also looks ahead to the Olympic winter games, indicating her desire to return strong for future events.
Pärmäkoski noted that while the injury isn’t critical at the moment, it becomes problematic under strain, particularly in challenging events. She remains optimistic about participating in the remaining races in the World Championships and acknowledges that her season-ending health situation requires careful monitoring.
