Advisor Lasse Gimnes will follow Johannes Høsflot Klæbo closely during the World Championships in Trondheim, becoming part of the Norwegian Ski Federation’s (NSF) communications team. Gimnes, who has been Klæbo’s advisor since 2016, has been tasked with managing the media relations for Klæbo throughout the event alongside the federation’s other media staff.

With a World Championship on home ground, the pressure on Klæbo is expected to be immense. NSF’s communication chief, Espen Graff, explained that the federation carried out a thorough review of the needs to ensure the best possible operation for both the athletes and the media in Trondheim. Due to limited resources, particularly in cross-country skiing, the decision was made to bolster the media team.

Gimnes will report daily to both Espen Graff and the leadership in Norwegian cross-country skiing, following the plans and routines established by the federation. Graff emphasized that both the federation and Klæbo’s own team view this extra support as essential to handle the increased media attention during a championship held on home soil.
