Johannes Høsflot Klæbo won the World Cup race in Engadin on Sunday, achieving a remarkable sixfold Norwegian podium finish. Klæbo took an early lead and dictated the pace through the entire race, securing victory with a strong finish.

Iver Tildheim Andersen finished just behind him, while Didrik Tønseth crossed the line in third place.

Last Saturday, Klæbo had already celebrated his sixth sprint victory of the season, marking his 100th career win in the World Cup, including team triumphs.

This weekend in Engadin represented the last opportunity for Norwegian racers to secure their places for the World Championships. Following the competitions in Switzerland, two athletes will qualify for the Championships in Granåsen. It is expected that these will be two sprint positions since skate sprinting is also on the program in Trondheim.

The 20 kilometers is a distance for the World Championships but will also feature a mass start with ski changes.

A week earlier, Swedish racer William Poromaa achieved victory in the same distance at Les Rousses in France, where Klæbo did not participate on the starting line.
