In the team sprint of the World Cup in Lahti, it all started very poorly for the French team. Engaged in a fall by American Ben Ogden, Lucas Chanavat initially lost his skis, with more than 14 seconds lost. His teammate Renaud Jay then also fell, and the duo of skiers finished painfully in fifteenth place.
However, luck was not entirely against French skier Jules Chappaz, who managed to recover after a broken pole at the beginning of a relay. Along with his teammate Richard Jouve, they finished strongly to snag a podium finish—marking Chappaz's third podium in five days by fending off the Americans in the final stretch.
Dominating the event, the Norwegian pair of Johannes Klaebo and Even Northug won comfortably ahead of the Swiss duo of Janik Riebli and Valerio Grond, with Chappaz and Jouve finishing in back at 1.87 seconds.
Women's Sprint in Lahti
In the women's team sprint event, Germany, led by Coletta Rydzek and Laura Gimmler, took victory in Lahti, followed by Sweden (Hagström-Dahlqvist) and the Swiss duo Nadine Fähndrich-Anja Weber. The French pair of Mélissa Gal and Julie Pierrel finished 11th.
