Jonna Sundling Takes 10th World Cup Victory in Lillehammer

Jonna Sundling went undefeated throughout the day in Lillehammer, clinching her tenth World Cup victory. This marked a great day for Swedish women’s skiing, as Johanna Hagström secured second place, rounding out a double podium for Sweden. Sundling expressed her joy, stating, "It feels great to feel strong. It’s not every day, so I’m enjoying this extra. Everything worked well today."

Sundling set the tone early by dominating the qualifiers, finishing six seconds ahead of the second-fastest competitor.

In the final, Sundling was joined by fellow Swedes Hagström and Emma Ribom. No one could challenge Sundling's speed, as she claimed victory with a three-second margin. Hagström, reflecting on her solid finish, said, "You can’t start better this season, but Jonna was unbeatable today." Emma Ribom finished in fifth place.

This victory came as a sweet redemption for Sundling after finishing fourth in the season's first sprint in Ruka. "That was probably an extra motivation, plus the fact that it was a skate race today, and I have good memories of this course," Sundling noted. It was in Lillehammer that Sundling achieved her first World Cup victory back in 2018.
