In a high-class field, Jonna Sundling was dominant in the prologue of today's sprint at the season opener in Bruksvallarna.

Sundling finished more than five seconds ahead of second-placed Linn Svahn. Anders Blomquist, an impressed SVT expert, remarked on Sundling's speed, stating she is "the best in the world when it comes to skiing fast."

"I was satisfied but felt a bit overwhelmed since it was the real deal with competition. It’s uncommon but fun to be back in the action. I felt like Bambi, not because it was slippery, but it should get better as the competition progresses," Sundling told SVT Sport. According to Blomquist, she likely referred to the challenging tracks where balancing can be difficult.

Following Sundling was Linn Svahn as the second fastest, followed by Maja Dahlqvist, Johanna Hagström, and Emma Ribom.

In the men's qualifying round, Edvin Anger also achieved a superior performance, winning by 3.38 seconds over one of the day's big surprises, Måns Skoglund from Åsarna. Anger commented, "It felt good. I could go out big and confidently and maintained that right to the finish."

A notable future talent was 20-year-old Anton Grahn from IFK Mora, who finished fifth. "I felt sluggish. I didn’t think it would be as fast as it was when I felt tired already in the first hill. So it was alright," Grahn shared with SVT Sport.

Finals in Bruksvallarna are set to start at 11:10 AM, with SVT broadcasting the event, and viewers are encouraged to engage via chat.
