Johaug makes a U-turn – Klæbo also selected for Tour de Ski
Johaug abruptly changes her mind about competing in the Tour de Ski, now keen to participate. Alongside her is Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, despite initial uncertainties regarding his participation. Therese Johaug had previously asserted that she would not take part in the Tour de Ski this holiday season but has opened the door to changing her plans based on recent competition experiences. This decision came after recent World Cup events in Davos, where she realized she needs more competitive training. The Tour de Ski will take place solely in Italy this season, commencing on December 28, with the final stage at Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme. The Norwegian team will feature Johaug, Klæbo, and several other athletes while excluding Kristine Stavås Skistad and Tiril Udnes Weng, who struggled with their season preparations.
The Norwegian squad for the Tour de Ski includes:
- Women: Therese Johaug, Heidi Weng, Astrid Øyre Slind, Kristine Austgulen Fosnæs, and others.
- Men: Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget, Simen Hegstad Krüger, and others. Johaug has previously secured three Tour de Ski titles and aims to add to her accolades this season.
