Therese Johaug, the returning Norwegian star, could not keep up with the superior Frida Karlsson but was still pleased to secure second place in her first World Cup event since 2022.

"It was above my expectations and what I had thought," said the Norwegian.

Johaug also took the opportunity to praise Frida Karlsson after her debut victory in the 10 km classic race at Ruka while opening up for competing in more distances at the World Championships.
