At home, global ski star Johannes Klaebo excelled in the skate sprint held in Lillehammer (Norway) on Saturday, claiming his 86th career victory. Demonstrating his prowess, he left no opportunity for his competitors, finishing well ahead of Even Northug and Federico Pellegrino. Klaebo had previously won the season's opening sprint in Ruka, Finland.

Lucas Chanavat, who showed confidence in the semi-finals, ended up finishing fifth. This marked a recovery after his disappointing 38th placement in Ruka. Within the French team, only Rémi Bourdin passed the qualification round but was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

In the women's competition, Jonna Sundling faced no challenges in the final, impressively marking her tenth World Cup victory, finishing three seconds ahead of compatriot Johanna Hagstroem, who maintained her lead in the overall standings. Norwegian Julie Myhre took the third spot on the podium. Only Léna Quintin among the French participants managed to qualify but was knocked out in the quarter-finals.
