Johannes Klaebo concluded his exceptional season with another victory on Sunday in the 50 km classic race in Lahti, Finland. This race was the final competition of the season, where Klaebo edged out his fellow countrymen Martin Nyenget and Simen Krueger. His swift finish, just a mere 0.5 seconds ahead of Nyenget, highlighted his dominance throughout the season.
Earlier in the season, he clinched nine sprint wins, and just two days prior, he secured his fifth crystal globe after triumphing in Tallinn, Estonia. His performance this season has solidified his status as a top competitor, especially following an unprecedented achievement at the World Championships in Trondheim, where he won every race he entered.
Hugo Lapalus, who finished 13th in the race after a commendable performance, managed to secure third place overall in the distance category standings. This accomplishment marks the first podium finish for a French competitor in this category since Maurice Manificat's second place finish in 2016. Lapalus's consistent performance throughout the season has been instrumental in his rise within the ranks of international skiing.
