Klæbo equaled the record set by Swiss athlete Dario Cologna for the most overall victories in the Tour de Ski. Although he finished in a modest 18th place in the last race on January 5, 2025, his consistent performances throughout the Tour ensured his dominant victory with a lead of one minute and 23 seconds over Austria’s Mika Vermeulen, who secured second place.

Simen Hegstad Krüger delivered a strong performance in the final stage, finishing first after a grueling climb up Alpe Cermis, securing a significant comeback after falling in a previous race. He expressed his admiration for Klæbo, acknowledging his influence on the sport.

Following the competition, Klæbo was celebrated not just for his win but for the legacy he continues to build in cross-country skiing. Krüger pointed out that Klæbo's achievements inspire him, and both athletes are now seen as torchbearers in the discipline, as they continue to break barriers and set new standards in skiing excellence.
