Johanna Hagström discusses interrupted training camp: 'Disappeared overnight'

Following the cancellation of the Swedish national team training camp in Vålådalen due to insufficient snow, Johanna Hagström shared her insights on the matter. Just weeks before the Swedish cross-country skiing premiere, the camp ended abruptly after conditions deteriorated over a short period. Hagström described the situation as initially promising but quickly diminishing, stating, 'It was very good at first, but then it was as if everything disappeared overnight.'

Athletes were given the choice to stay in Vålådalen or seek snow elsewhere, with Hagström opting to return home to Falun. She acknowledged that while many locations have good conditions, the warm wave specifically affected Vålådalen. Despite these challenges, Hagström remains optimistic about her preparation for the upcoming season, noting that alternative training options are available. She expressed concern regarding the ongoing issue of snow reliability during the autumn months and emphasized the importance of addressing environmental factors contributing to this change in skiing conditions.
