In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Jessie Diggins has secured her second Overall World Cup title at the finals held in Falun, Sweden, this Sunday. The American skier, who previously won the title in 2021, capped off her season triumph with a spectacular victory in the 20 km mass start, the concluding race of the season.

Before the decisive race on Sunday, Swedish skier Linn Svahn faced an uphill battle. She would have needed not just a substantial point lead but also a stroke of luck to overtake Diggins in the Overall World Cup standings. Ultimately, that upset was not meant to be. After finishing fifth in Saturday's 10 km classical race, Diggins was already set on her path to the championship trophy. She further cemented her victory during the final mass start round, clinching the intermediate sprint and earning valuable bonus points along the way.

In a thrilling finish, Diggins managed to outpace her Norwegian competitors, crossing the line ahead of Heidi Weng in second place and Anne Kjersti Kalvaa in third. This victory marks her impressive seventh win of the season.

On the French side, Flora Dolci finished in 13th place, followed closely by Delphine Claudel in 25th. Meanwhile, Linn Svahn struggled to find her footing and finished in 26th place.
