In a thrilling conclusion to the season, Jessie Diggins secured her second overall globe at the cross-country skiing finals held in Falun, Sweden. The American skier, who first claimed this prestigious title in 2021, sealed her overall victory by triumphing in the 20 km mass start, the final race of the season.

To surpass Diggins, Swedish skier Linn Svahn required a substantial point margin, which ultimately did not materialize. Diggins had already delivered an impressive performance on Saturday, finishing fifth in the 10 km classic race, putting her in a commanding position for the overall title.

In the 20 km race on Sunday, Diggins further solidified her lead by clinching the vital sprint and accruing bonus points. She maintained her momentum to cross the finish line ahead of her competitors, including Norwegian skiers Heidi Weng and Anne Kjersti Kalvaa, in a dramatic final sprint.

This achievement marks Diggins’ seventh victory of the season and highlights her status in the sport, adding a second overall title to her accolades since her first in 2021. Meanwhile, Flora Dolci capped off a strong season by finishing as the top French skier in 13th place, with Delphine Claudel following in 25th and Linn Svahn coming in 26th.
