Cross-country Skiing: Jens Burman Falls Again – Blames Himself: It’s Terrible
Jens Burman is facing a challenging season after falling once more during the 50 km race in Lahti, leading him to halt his participation.
- “It’s terrible. It can’t be true,” the 30-year-old stated, expressing deep disappointment over his situation.
This incident marks Burman’s third fall in quick succession. Earlier, during the World Championships in Trondheim, he fell in the skiathlon and repeated the misstep during the 50 km race a few days later.
During the recent race, after approximately 18 kilometers, he fell and was compelled to withdraw from the event, which was the last race of his season.
- “I can’t believe this is happening for the third time. Someone fell in front of me, so I guess it wasn’t my fault this time,” he shared in resignation.
Burman also revealed that he has been experiencing pain in his ribs over the past two weeks, which has compounded his struggles in the races.
- “It’s unfortunate but true. You want to finish the race, but I couldn’t bear to push through another three miles today.”
With this fall, the season is now over for the 30-year-old athlete, and when reflecting on his performances, he succinctly stated, “It’s disgraceful.”
