Jasmi Joensuu secures sprint cup victory
Jasmi Joensuu has officially won the sprint cup in the cross-country skiing World Cup. She is now only the second Finnish skier to achieve this honor, joining the ranks of Virpi Kuitunen, who won the first sprint cup in the 2006-07 season.
Joensuu currently leads the standings with a total of 767 points, significantly ahead of Nadine Fähndrich, who has 638 points and cannot surpass Joensuu in the upcoming final competition this weekend in Lahti, which offers a maximum of 115 points.
In the recent sprint race in Tallinn, Joensuu placed sixth, while Nadine Fähndrich won the women's event, and the men's race was claimed by Johannes H. Kläbo.
With only four races left in the current season, including the upcoming sprint heats and team events in Lahti, Joensuu's victory has set a remarkable standard for Finnish cross-country skiing.
