Jasmi Joensuu in great form – Gave a telling comment about her situation

Jasmi Joensuu has been remarkable this sprint season, finishing fifth in the latest World Cup sprint competition in Les Rousses, France. Known for her impressive consistency, Joensuu reached four finals out of six sprint events this season.

In the recent race, Joensuu battled fiercely for a podium spot in the finals but ultimately fell short in the finishing stretch, where she expressed internal dissatisfaction with her qualifying performance, placing 17th. She reflected on the performance and noted that her skis were not optimal during qualification, attributing it to her own mistakes.

After switching skis for the final, Joensuu commended her support team for keeping her calm and focused. "I felt great heading into the final, but I struggled to find my rhythm in the qualifiers, which is unlike me. It's encouraging to see that my baseline performance is at a finals level now, even though my qualifying run was disappointing," Joensuu said.

Her recent results highlight significant progress, as she looks forward to the upcoming MM-sprint in Trondheim, where she will compete in freestyle. Joensuu mentioned that she needs to build more strength towards the end of races, but is confident that her performance will improve in the future.

In the men’s competition, Lauri Vuorinen also competed for a spot in the finals but faced challenges, finishing short in the semifinals.

Overall, Joensuu's trajectory in sprint skiing is one to watch, showcasing resilience and spirit for upcoming competitions.
