As seen in the Skiathlon, she narrowly defeated local hero Therese Johaug (+1.3 seconds). Johaug, who made a comeback from retirement specifically for the home World Championships, expressed her disappointment after winning a second silver medal, stating: "I am really unsatisfied today," during an interview with ZDF.

Hennig finished seventh

Katharina Hennig also showed incredible performance by finishing in seventh place (+29.9 seconds). The 28-year-old, who had been struggling with health issues in recent weeks, started her first World Championship race in Trondheim confidently. However, she fell back behind on the second lap.

"First of all, I am super happy with the seventh place," Hennig stated after the race in ZDF. "I was very unsure, especially in the last days; the season has not gone according to my expectations so far. I am simply glad to deliver such a good result at this major event before such a crowd."

The Scandinavians are familiar with these snowy conditions, and their technicians are skilled at preparing skis for such conditions. However, the German team also showed good hands in material and wax choices. Hennig praised the technicians: "We had good material!"
