Pål Golberg and Johannes Høsflot Klæbo were untouchable as they surged to victory in the men’s team sprint in Davos on Friday evening.

The Norwegian duo was favored heading into the final, with Golberg passing the baton to Klæbo in the lead after the first exchange. They maintained control over the race, with Klæbo looking strong under the floodlights, sending Golberg out in second place for the final leg. There, Golberg faced a challenge from Swiss contender Janik Riebli but managed to keep pace remarkably well. It was then up to Klæbo to secure the victory, where he showed superiority and finished with a decisive lead.

After dealing with a cold virus affecting his performance during the earlier part of the World Cup season, Klæbo is now poised to take on the challenge of collecting several gold medals at next year’s World Championships held in Norway.

Norway's second team, consisting of Even Northug and Simen Hegstad Krüger, unfortunately could not qualify for the final. Krüger admitted to struggling with the prologue, resulting in an unsatisfactory performance.

The team sprint event is scheduled to occur three times in the World Cup this season, with Italy's Cogne and Finland's Lahti set to host subsequent events. Also, this same competition will be featured at the World Championships in Trondheim in March.

Tomorrow, the individual sprint competition will take place in Davos, followed by a 20 kilometer classic race on Sunday.
