German Medal Hope Expresses Frustration: "Feeling Like I've Not Arrived"
Victoria Carl, Germany's medal hopeful, confronts significant challenges at the Nordic Ski World Championships, sharing emotional insights about her struggles after the individual race.
The 29-year-old athlete finished in 14th place in the 10 km classic technique race in Trondheim. Carl described her frustration during a post-race interview with ZDF, mentioning that the track conditions felt increasingly difficult.
She lamented, "The snow was becoming deeper and the track slushier," indicating that she felt like "none" of her power was translating to the track. Despite initially feeling good at the start, she found herself struggling to maintain her technique as the race progressed.
Carl is hopeful for improved snow conditions in the upcoming relay events, as she expresses her wish for a firmer track before the races on Wednesday.
