Frida Karlsson sidelined – criticizes herself with curse words
Originally published in Yle on October 25, 2024
Frida Karlsson, a prominent Swedish cross-country skier, has been forced to step away from intensive training due to overtraining issues, which she has experienced in the past. In her own words, she remarked on her stupidity for making the same mistake again, emphasizing that she carries the responsibility for her situation. Despite having excellent support around her, she acknowledged the need to make more sensible decisions in her training regimen moving forward.
Currently, the timeline for Karlsson's return to competition is uncertain. Nevertheless, she is optimistic about participating in Sweden's national season opener in Bruksvallarna, scheduled for November 22–24. If her recovery proceeds as planned, she may also compete in Ruka from November 29 to December 1. Last season, Karlsson achieved noteworthy success in the World Cup circuit, securing three victories, alongside four second-place finishes and one third-place finish.
