Frida Karlsson Impresses After Injury: "Beyond Expectations"
Frida Karlsson, recovering from injuries and overuse issues before the season, secured an impressive second place in the Sweden premiere.
“I’m really pleased, absolutely beyond expectations,” she said during the SVT broadcast.
Karlsson had a strong performance, pushing winner Ebba Andersson hard throughout the race at Bruksvallarna.
"I was quite eager at the start and perhaps went out too hard; I felt tired halfway through the second lap but rallied for a good sprint at the end," said Karlsson.
Despite spending significant parts of her pre-season in Tenerife with the Norwegian long-distance elite and her first week on snow, she finished just 11.8 seconds behind Andersson.
"I had no idea where I was in the race and hadn’t been on snow much, so it was a great test run. I feel much more confident going into the upcoming World Cup season."
