Frida Karlsson is once again forced to slow down her training due to overexertion. When she will be able to make a comeback is uncertain. "Damn, I'm stupid. To go through the same mistake again," Karlsson stated.
Karlsson has suffered from overexertion in the soft tissues of her left foot, necessitating changes to her upcoming season's training plan. "I'm trying to take it easy. Monitor the development of this injury. I won’t be able to ski much before the season kicks off," she added.
Currently, the 25-year-old is in Tenerife where her training consists of gym and cycling. She hopes to gradually increase her training over the next weeks and be on the start line for the Swedish premiere in Bruksvallarna from November 22-24.
"We’ll see, but I hope to be fit for fight by Bruksvallarna. I know I’ll have to ease into this season."
National team coach Stefan Thomson mentions that it's about finding the right balance. "We generally want to stay on the right side of the boundary. Overall, we’ve done quite well, but it’s always frustrating when you cross over instead of staying balanced."
In a video clip, Frida expands on her self-criticism.
