Finnish man fined after crossing the Russian border multiple times while skiing
The Kainuu District Court has imposed a fine on a Finnish man convicted of breaching the state border regulations.
The incident occurred last April in Suomussalmi, where the man crossed the border between Finland and Russia four times while skiing.
He did not possess the necessary documents to justify the border crossings and did not enter or exit through an authorized border crossing point. The man admitted to being aware of the border's location.
He confessed to the crime, and the court sentenced him to 20 fine units.
